HAKA TOURISM GROUP / March 2018 – May 2020 (Auckland, New Zealand)
Head of Marketing / Digital Marketing Manager
Haka Tourism Group runs the very best multi-day tours of New Zealand. It also owns a bunch of hotels and backpacker lodges throughout the country, and runs tours for schools in both NZ and overseas.
Starting as the Digital Marketing Manager my focus was optimising Haka’s Facebook and Google ads to squeeze the most value out of key international markets, and improving customer engagement through CRM platform optimisation.
After about a year I was promoted to the Head of Marketing. In this role, the things that keep me most busy included overseeing the Marketing team’s output, setting the strategic direction of Haka’s seasonal marketing initiatives, managing the development roadmap for its family of online properties, and trying to stay ahead of trends in a very competitive tourism industry.
Haka has more gongs than it has shelves to display them. In the time I was on board we took home the following awards: 2019 Supreme Winner – Air New Zealand Export Awards, 2019 – NZ Deloitte Fast 50, 2018 Best NZ Tour – Adventure Tourism Awards, 2018 Excellence in Marketing – Westpac Business Awards.

PNI DIGITAL MEDIA / August 2015 – December 2017 (Vancouver, Canada)
Marketing Manager / Senior Marketing Specialist
PNI Digital Media offers photo and business printing software solutions to some of the biggest names in business including FedEx, Staples, Costco, Sam’s Club and Tesco.
Originally part of the core marketing team, as a Senior Marketing Specialist I helped Sam’s Club and Staples implement digital advertising and software solutions.
In October 2016 I was promoted to cover my boss’ maternity-leave and stepped into the acting-Marketing Manager’s shoes. In just over a year I grew a team of five to a team of eight and quickly realized I enjoy managing people just as much as I do things.
In 2017, PNI featured in British Columbia’s Top 100 Employers, as well as Canada’s Top 100 Employers in 2015; in 2013 it appeared in the prodigious Profit 500 list; in 2012 PNI made Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 list, and the Fastest 100 list.

YELLOW / February 2013 – February 2015 (Auckland, New Zealand)
Marketing & Digital Communications Specialist
Everyone knows the Yellow Pages. And everyone knows that technology is dramatically changing the publishing industry’s landscape. Evolve or die is the choice Yellow had. And it chose to evolve.
I was brought in to help Yellow make the shift from being a print book to digital company. As part of the wider Comms & Media team, I had many fingers in many pies. One of those hybrid roles, you could say.
These pies often included: project managing website builds, coming up with digital and traditional marketing campaigns, launching them, measuring them, copywriting, managing content on our online properties, eDM deployments and social media marketing.
